In Tandem Workshops

In Tandem collaborates regularly with writers and performers in script development and R&D workshops. We are currently working to develop weekly community workshops with teenagers deemed high risk potential offenders. In Tandem additionally offeres Drama school talks aimed at encouraging current students to challenge the current industry - to reflect critically on the sterotypes within the indusrty and work to actively change and develop the theatrical landscape of the future.

Unit C Play Readings

Unit C play readings are hosted monthly by In Tandem. They aim to provide a safe space for writers to hear their play aloud for the firt time in front of a supportive audience, gain constructive feedback and develop their plays further.

Talks

We believe that as artists we must make the work that we deem to be the most interesting. This doesn't necissarilly reflect what is already being made in the industry, and it is our aim to challenge, and encourage other practitioners to challenge what kind of theatre we make. Asking the questions - "What kind of artist do you want to be?" opens up the opportunity for all of us to question our roles within theatre - are we fighting for greater gender equality? Do we believe the artist has a moral/ethical responsibility when making work? Should we be creating work that is in advance of public taste? Or cater for an audience that already exists? By constantly questioning ourselves and others, reflecting and interrogating, we believe theatre can be a real force for social change.
